Red Arrows Rolling in the Sky: It has been five years since we started the Rolling in the Sky series. This release covers the "Red Arrows," a top notch aerobatic team from Europe. As you may know, the Red Arrows are one of the best aerobatic teams in Europe, along with the French Air Force's "Patrouille de France" and the Italian Air Force's "Frecce Tricolori." Formed after the other two teams, the "Red Arrows" are the most aggressive of the European teams, and were the first western team to tour the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. Uniquely, the team flies an extremely large number of shows in one four month season. From the end of May through September they fly 120 times, approximately twice as often as other teams. Theoretically, they would have to perform every day to achieve this number in four months. In reality, they fly two to three shows in one day at different locations, especially on weekends when most air shows take place. It is hard to believe the incredible vitality required to do this much work. It is also amazing to have this many air shows in one country, and this serves to demonstrate how popular aerobatics are in England.
