Mu-Lan is a young girl from a family of famous warriors. When large-scale war starts raging in China, as a result of a long and disastrous drought, she dresses herself as a warrior and joins Kahn's troops instead of her old and powerless father.

The war lasts for 12 years and Mu-Lan gets higher and higher rank. Finally, she is captured by enemies and brought into the dungeons where she meets an old sage who helps her escape.

In the breathtaking 2nd part of the film Mu-Lan is helped by a magic animal-transformer.She must pass challenges of the four elements of nature, defeat the enemies, and succeed in awakening the dragon that melts the snow from Himalai, in order to end the long period of drought.

The war ends, but the legend of Mu-Lan lives on today.
