Bohemian couple Cyril and Fiona travel to a remote location in an unnamed Latin country to escape the convention of middle class morality. Committed to the notion of open marriage, they find themselves attracted to Catherine and Hugh, recent arrivals who move into the villa next door. But, as the four interlocking characters pursue the sexual idyll, what proves to be liberating for some, is inevitable destructive to others.
