Based on a true story.

When MacArthur withdrew from The Philppines, the battlefield was littered with wounded soldiers.Woman of Valor tells the story of the brave nurses who defied orders and remained behind to care for the fallen Americans.
Susan Sarandon stars as Col. Maggie Jessup, leader of the courageous nurses who refused to abandon their duties and were captured by the Japanese.Joined by a tough young woman left stranded by the U.S. evacuation, these women endure the violence of war and years of suffering through disease, malnutrition and torture in a POW camp.
The Japanese are torn between hatred and respect for their prisoners' strength and dignity.Throughout their captivity, Maggie challenges the camp commander in a contest of wills which determines their ultimate fate.
Women evrywhere will be inspired by these steely heroines, as they prove they are just as noble and strong as any man. They are truly Women Of Valor.
