This DVD contains the complete 12 chapter serial of The Three Musketeers with John Wayne who resues his buddies in the Arabian desert. Together they set out to stop the evil El Shasta who is determined to destroy the French Foreign Legion.

Made in just 21 days in '33, THE THREE MUSKETEERS is the last of three serials John Wayne would make in his early days in Hollywood, as he learned his craft on Poverty Row.
Nat Levine's Mascot Pictures Corporation, one of the sudios that would later become part of Republic, was known for its tight schedules and even tighter budgets. The hours were long and the work hard making these films, and that hard work and breakneck pace easily translate to the screen.
Dumas' novel is updated to the FOREIGN LEION, with Wayne the D'Artagnon character , as the Musketeers seek the mysterious El Shaitan. Twelve chapters of action come at a furious pace as Wayne and his co-stars Lon Chaney, Jr. and Noah Beery, Jr. face certain death in the deserts of Araby.
Co-director Armand Schaefer would go on to great success as the producer of Roy Rogers filsm and as head of Gene Autry's production company. And, of course, John Wayne would go on to become John Wayne.
