1906: In the icy caves of northern China, geologist Alexander Saxton (Christopher Lee) has just made a remarkable discovery that will change the history of mankind - and bring it to an abrupt end.
Soon Saxton and his secrect - the well-preserved corpse of a man/apre creature - are hurtling toward England on the Trans-Siberian Express. But Saxton's chief rival, Dr. Wells (Peter Cushing), is also aboard the train. Desperate for a peek inside the huge, locked crate, he pays the baggage handler to drill a peephole.
When the baggage clerk disappears, everyone gets a look into the crate. It now contains only the extremely dead clerk: his eyes drained of color, his brain drained of memory. The blind corpses pile up as Saxton and Wells stalk the deadly creature from one end of the speeding train to the other. Finally the monster is shot down, and everyone relaxes.
That was really a mistake.
