His Mountain. His Daughter. His Law.
In this depression era drama, Keith Carradine plays Turner, a WWI veteran who has faced darkness many times. He's haunted by the experience of senseless brutality and violence from WWI and the civil unrest and despair of the 1930's.
Turner stumbles upon a pristine backwoods mountainside where he meets and falls in love with Flo Samuels. Newcomer Hayley Du Mond plays an innocent woman who has lived her whole life in the mountain and in her father's harsh grip. Burt Reynold's plays Clayton Samuels, a tyrant who reigns over the mountain - and his daughter. Seeing Turner on his land awakens the most lethal instincts of his character. Samuel sees Turner not just as a threat to his rule over the mountain - but over his daughter as well.
