The railroad of Switzerland cross some of the most spectacular and stunningly beautiful mountain landscapes in the world. From Basel to Lugano, from Geneva to St. Mortz, Swiss Rail Journeys takes you through glorious mountain scenery and around breathtaking alpine lakes.

The Brunig Railway
Starting in Luzern, a charming city situated on one of Switzerland's most beautiful lakes, you travel on the Brunig Railway to Interlaken. The route winds its way through the scenic valleys and majestic foothills of the Alps. Traveling over the Brunig Pass, we end our journey in Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland.

The Bern-Simplon Railway
Beginning in Bern, we journey across Switzerland's mighty Alpine backbone via the Lotschbery Tunnel. One of Switzerland's oldest and most famous trains, the Bern-Simplon express has been immortalized in fiction by such diverse writers as Agatha Christie and Ian Fleming.

The William Tell Express
This railway links Luzern, located in the mountainous heart of Switzerland, with Lugano, in the far south of the country adjoining the Swiss-Italian border. The route takes us though dramatic alpine valleys and across towing passes, by the lemon groves of Locarno and past the splendid vistas of Lake Lugano, before arriving at its final destination among the Palazzos of Lugano.

The Gotthardbahn
Travel through the heart of Switzerland as this railway crosses from Basel to Chiasso. Switzerland's third largest city, Basel is located along the Rhine River at the Franco-German border, while Chiasso lies along the Italian-Swiss border. The journey takes us through some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery in the world before arriving at its final destination near Italy's breathtaking Lake Como.
