Set in modern-day Madrid, Alberto (Molla) appears to lead the perfect life; he has a successful career, a beautiful wife Elena (Gil) and a loving son. When Elena accidentally stumbles upon a hotel receipt in Alberto's jacket she suspects Alberto has been unfaithful. But what she never imagined was that Alberto was involved in a passionate affair with another man, Diego (Bardem), a sexy, confident young surgeon. When Elena discovers her husband's secret, she leaves him.
Desperate to save his idealistic life, Alberto tries to convince Elena - and himself - that his affair with Diego was a mistake. But Alberto soon learns his love for Diego is real.
