He's funny enough in pants! In skirts he's terrific!
Comedian Jack Benny is "continuously hilarious [and] a roaring success" (Los Angeles Times) in the title role of this laugh-filled version of one of the world's most performed stage comedies. Decades before the success of films like Tootsie and Mrs. Doubtfire, Benny sets the high-heeled standard for hysterically funny, cross-dressing costume comedies! Charley and Jack are university students who need a chaperone so they can entertain some young society ladies. They ask their friend, Lord Babberly (Benny) to pretend to be Charley's aunt to escort them. All goes well until of course, Charley's real aunt shows up and discovers to her shock... that she's already there!
