The Dave Brubeck Quartet perform Dave's "Greatest Hits" and his entire reverent, rhythmic mass, "To Hope! A Celebration," with the Russian National Orchestra at the world-renowned Bolshoi Hall of the Moscow Conservatory of Music. It was the first time jazz was heard in Russia's most prestigious classical music venue.

Emmy Award winning filmmaker Daniel Wilson and a world class production crew were there to capture the fascinating, painstaking, tension filled rehearsals of orchestra, chorus, soloists and quartet as they strive to achieve a common voice, as well as the excitement, joy, passion and ultimate standing ovation of the performance.

Included In This Program:
Brubeck's reflections on more than fifty years as a pianist, composer and unofficial ambassador of goodwill.
Jam sessions with Russian Jazz 'masters' at elegant Spaso House
Interviews with the Russian musicians and the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
A seminar with Moscow Conservatory students, to whom jazz, long banned in the Soviet Union, is revered as the voice of freedom.
