Danielle is cultivating a fractured fin-de-siecle American Dream - in of all places - her hometown on Cape Cod. Living there year round with her scratch-ticket obsessed mother has splintered her marriage into a million irritating reflections of what they had been and what she had hoped they would become. But then, marring the high school Goth god isn't a sure path to matrimonial bliss.
Coping with another gray Cape Cod winter the only way she knows how, partying in Boston and getting drunk with her psychic friend, leads to an affair and a change of heart, as Danielle discovers the trouble with perpetual deja vu.
The final film in Todd Verow's Addiction Trilogy, The Trouble with Perpetual Deja Vu is probably his finest to day, a moody mix of sex, sea and searching.
