Nothing Sacred: Carole Lombard is at her best in this hilarious and zany story about a woman who fakes a serious illness to become the toast of the town in New York City. A reporter, played by Hollywood screen idol Fredric March, thinks her sad story is the truth and decides to take advantage of her situation, not realizing she's taking advantage of him! This film shows the mass media and their legions of followers for what they really are-the same now just as it was over 65 years ago! Nothing Sacred is a hilarious and cynical good time with critics agreeing that it ranks as one of the top screwball comedies to ever come out of Hollywood.
Something To Sing About: Bandleader Terry Rooney, played superbly by James Cagney, leaves his radio job in New York to head for the hills of Hollywood. Newcomer Terry has what it takes to become a super-star but the Hollywood brass want to keep his salary and ego in check, so they give him a bum's rush! William Frawley (Fred Mertz) co-stars as the Hollywood press agent assigned to keep an eye on Terry and to keep him in line with disastrous and hilarious results. Something To Sing About shows a wonderful and rare inside look at the Hollywood of the 30's proving that the more things change the more they stay the same! Plenty of dancing and singing from Vaudeville trained Cagney to keep you gloriously entertained with every viewing! Tons of fun for the entire family!
