Things are heating up hotter than a pistol in the two Wild West adventures featured in this DVD collection. In The Gunslinger, Beverly Garland puts on the sheriff's badge after her husband is gunned down in cold blood. Steve Forrest mysteriously escapes his own public hanging and then seeks to help a desperate widow in The Hanged Man.
The Gunslinger Side 1 After her husband is savagely gunned down, Marshal Rose Hood (played by Beverly Garland) picks up the fallen silver badge and declares war on the gang of outlaws who have taken over the town. After poking around the local saloon, she discovers that the local Madame and saloonkeeper (played by Allison Hayes) is at the bottom of a get-rich-quick scam in cohorts with hired killer Care Miro (played by John Ireland). She uses all her wiles to get justice and restore peace in town.
The Hanged Man Side 2 Only a lucky man survives his own hanging. James Devlin (played by Steve Forrest) is such a man, and his deadly instincts don't often let him down. After escaping his own grim fate, Forrest decides to use his good fortune to do some good. A widower (played by Sharon Acker) who is being tormented by a ruthless land baron (played by Cameron Mitchell) fits this description. But even with all his good intentions can Devlin really save her from harm?
