A Walk In The Sun This critically acclaimed film was directed by two time Academy Award winner Lewis Milestone(All Quiet On The Western Front, Mutiny On The Bounty)and tells the story of a group of hardened GI's landing at Solerno, Italy to take a farmhouse just 6 miles away. Unfortunately it will be the last walk that many of them will ever make.A Walk In The Sun was met with great approval from Veterans groups throughout the country for its honest portrayal of what life and war were like for the men in the trenches. Before Band Of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan, there was only one other film that looked at war through the GI's eyes- A Walk In The Sun.
Go For Broke Lt. Michael Grayson, played by Van Johnson (Purple Rose Of Cairo, Last Time I Saw Paris) is commissioned to lead a group of Japanese-American soldiers into Europe. He is initially unsure of where their loyalties lie, but discovers their true nature in battle. Based on a true story, with plenty of actual combat scenes included, this film shows the courage and determination of The Fighting 442nd. These brave men went from having their loyalties questioned to becoming the most decorated unit in the history of the U.S. Armed Forces!
