Unlock your body, enrich your life.

Developed by Miranda Esmonde-White, Classical Stretch is a technique that unlocks parts of the body that have been seemingly bolted shut, what do we call inflexibility, as well as reducing inches while stretching and lengthening the body. In this workout, you will stretch and strengthen the muscles in the arm and shoulder. Check with your doctor before beginning this exercise program.

"I am a breast cancer survivor. After surgery I was in shock at the lack of movement in my arm. I couldn't raise my arm above my shoulder. At the hospital, the physiotherapist gave me a sheet of paper with exercises to help regain the mobility of my arm. Even as the exercise specialist I was lost when it came to medical recovery. I was afraid to push myself to a point where I would provoke an injury. I didn't know how much force to use and how much pain I should tolerate. besides begin devastated by the cancer I was confused as how best to convalesce. Therefore, I took the initiative and developed an exercise program using my own Classical Stretch theories as well as my oncologist's input. The end result was re-gaining full range of motion in my arm. At the end of the workout, I also share my emotional journey beginning with the shock of the diagnosis to what I feel is the full recovery. I hope this video helps others." - Miranda Esmonde-White.

This 30-minute workout should be eased into gently. Begin with only 5 minutes of this is how much you can take, and slowly build up to 30 minutes in your own time. Remember not to push too hard. Consult your physician if you have any concerns, and remember that recovery will come.
