Hong Kong is known as the Pearl of the Orient, the great variety of nightlife on offer is many and varied. "No. 1" is a luxurious karoke club in Hong Kong. It is run by Mann, better known as "Playboy". Playboy started out with nothing and now he's the golden boy in the club business. His smooth dealing's made him the top man in the business.
His success has attracted the attention of Hang Yang who's backed by Chinese money. Hang offers to go into business with Playboy but is turned down. In Playboy's eyes, the club business is a colorful world of different people and different stories, each one can be made into a best-selling film1 One day a young girl Tong Yan applies for a job with the club, Playboy becomes interested in her and her unusual past.
A new club "Top Girl" opens up opposite "No. 1", within one night, all Playboy's top girls have gone to work in the new club, only Tong Yan and Eggie stay behind. Playboy teaches Tong Yan how to handle customers be herself, Tong Yan accepts the challenge and sails through with it! Playboy calls his two assistants to go out and look for "new blood". Finally after a lot of back-breaking search all over Hong Kong, they've come up with Ming, they have also managed to transforms Eggie into a lovely busty beauty. With Tong Yan as the team leader, they set out to make a breakthrough in the business.
Playboy finds that he's fallen in love with Tong Yan but Tong remains reserved and is distant towards him. At last, Playboy's managed to find out that Tong Yan has an ex-boyfriend Pete who is a triad gang boss and has recently returned from Holland.
Pete's teamed up with Hang Yang to operate "Top Girl" which is No. 1's rival. Faced with the dilemma between Pete and Playboy, Tong Yan is confused. Pete asks her out to try to rekindle the love affair. Tong finds that Pete has changed into a ruthless man--a psycho. Pete even tried to drug Tong in order to get her into submission. Tong fights him and escapes. She turns to Playboy and accepts his help.
