The life and times of 3 famous sisters, Emily, Anne & Charlotte Bronte

Bronte County is a term often used to describe the uniquely beautiful corner of England where the great literary sisters Charlotte, Emily and Anne Bronte lived and drew inspiration for their novels. The Parsonage, now the Bronte Parsonage Museum, in Haworth, West Yorkshire was home to the Bronte family and it's from this atmospheric, gray stone house that our journey into Bronte Country will begin.

Step back in time and wander the steep cobbled streets of Haworth where the Bronte sister walked regularly, going about their everyday lives. A preserved steam railway that runs through the town allows a glimpse of how the Brontes would have traveled greater distances. Closer to home, discover the winding, rugged paths which led the sisters out into the dramatic landscape of "Wuthering Heights," where the Bronte Falls cascade down the valley under the Bronte Bridge.

Even if you've never read a Bronte novel in your life, this program has something very special to offer, charting the amazing real-life story of the Bronte family, set against the staggeringly beautiful Yorkshire landscape. Bronte County tells a fascinating tale full of passion, romance and tragedy, giving the viewer a real flavor of life in Victorian Britain as well as a delightful perspective into the lives, loves and works of the world famous Bronte sisters.
