Feline Friends:
Sagwa is a small cat who learns some very big lessons about friendship. In Sagwa's Lucky Bat, Fu-Fu-rescues Sagwa from getting stuck in an ash can. Despite their differences, Fu-Fu and Sagwa become best friends - who are there for one another in times of need, no matter what! In Cat and Mouse, Sagwa enjoys playing hide and seek with her friends, the mice, until she is ridiculed by the alley cats for playing with what should be "food." Sagwa learns that friendship can transcend differences and that we need to choose our own friends. In Dongwa's Best Friend, Dongwa learns the lesson of being too easily impressed and the value of just being who you are.

  • Illustrates the concepts of mutual respect and support through friendship.
  • Helps children develop self-assurance and value being themselves.

    Sagwa's Family Tree
Everyone has a story, and Sagwa's family is full of them! In Royal Cats, Dongwa learns how exciting history can be when he discovers that the Miao family's ancestors were royal cats. In Cat in the Wind, Sagwa, Dongwa and Sheegwa learn the power of art through the magical story of their ancestor, the artist Ming Miao. The excitement continues in Ciao, Miao! when the Foolish Magistrate is visited by a relative of Marco Polo, and nearly gives away a member of the Miao family!

  • Reinforces the value of working together to solve problems.
  • Introduces children to the excitement of learning about family history.
