Big Bird's desire to find the legendary Chinese phoenix leads him and Barkley the Dog to an exciting adventure in China. Along the way they visit with Chinese schoolchildren, watch a tai ji demonstration, learn some Chinese words and songs and meet the mischievous Monkey King, a traditional Chinese children's hero.
