Some Dreams Come With A Price.

Tyrone (Peter Williams), an idealistic Jamaican immigrant seduced by an opportunity for immediate wealth and prosperity, takes a job with powerful local entrepreneur Winston Price (George Harris-Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ragtime). But when Tyrone finds that he is assigned the task of collecting an old debt from his hopelessly irresponsible cousin (David Smith), his loyalties and career ambitions are severely tested. Tyrone's situation is further complicated by his rivalry with Busha (Clark Johnson-Homicide, Colors), Winston's hatchet man.

With Soul Survivor, writer/director Stephen Williams brilliantly examines the intersection between the better life that exists in our dreams and fantasies, and the sometimes cruel and unwieldy process of claiming it. Armed with an arresting visual style, uniformly strong performances, and featuring a compelling reggae soundtrack with artists such as Bob Marley and the Wailers and The Sattalites, Soul Survivor represents the best in contemporary independent Black Cinema.
