In the late 1940s, when television as we know it was just beginning, the producers, directors, and stars were all flying by the seat of their collective pants. From day to day, they were all guessing even the Network executives. But soon, two performers began to stand out from all the rest. They were Milton Berle and Lucille Ball. Lucy went on to star in five TV sitcoms, one of which was The Lucy Show. In these hilarious episodes from that classic series, you'll see what made her TV's monarch of comedy as she romps with the likes of Pat Collins and Phil Silvers.
The Lucy Show was the third series to which Lucille Ball used to dominate the Monday line-up on CBS. The Lucy Show, like her earlier series, I Love Lucy, ran six fun-filled seasons, and stayed in the Top 10 in the ratings for its entire run.
Episode 1 Lucy and Pat Collins A nightclub hypnotist puts Lucy and Mooney under her power, after Mr. Mooney confides in Lucy that he has insomnia.
Episode 2 Lucy and the Monkey After some long hours at the bank, Lucy goes to a psychiatrist when she thinks Mr. Mooney keeps changing into a monkey.
Episode 3 Lucy and Phil Silvers Phil Silvers plays an efficiency expert who replaces Mr. Mooney and Lucy learns new working habits, but havoc erupts when the assembly line is in shambles.
