In the late 1940s, when television as we know it was just beginning, the producers, directors, and stars were all flying by the seat of their collective pants. From day to day, they were all guessing even the Network executives. But soon, two performers began to stand out from all the rest. They were Milton Berle and Lucille Ball. Lucy went on to star in five TV sitcoms, one of which was The Lucy Show. In these hilarious episodes from that classic series, you'll see what made her TV's monarch of comedy as she romps with the likes of Paul Winchell.
The Lucy Show was the third series to which Lucille Ball used to dominate the Monday line-up on CBS. The Lucy Show, like her earlier series, I Love Lucy, ran six fun-filled seasons, and stayed in the Top 10 in the ratings for its entire run.
Episode 1 Lucy and the Submarine Lucy has to contact Mr. Mooney, who is on reserve submarine duty, in order to get him to sign some important papers and chaos erupts as she gets stuck on the sub!
Episode 2 Lucy and Paul Winchell Ventriloquist Paul Winchell comes into the bank to open an account, and Lucy tries to get him to appear in a bank benefit show...but a mishap causes Lucy to have to stand in as the Ventriloquist's dummy.
Episode 3 Lucy Goes to London Lucy writes a jingle for a dog food company and wins a trip to London, but when she misses her flight, she's forced to take a flight to New York and ends up sitting next to Mr. Mooney.
