When noted film director D.W. Griffiths saw Fields in the Zigfield Follies he hired him to be in the film Sally Of The Sawdust and the rest as they say is history! Audiences loved the tippling red nosed master of the double entendre, in a time where adult humor was in short supply up on the silver screen.
