A Riotous Comedy

Figgis and company are back in another light-hearted swipe at hospital life as the patients see it.

Gentlemanly Archie Glover (Peter Bowles-To the Manor Born, The Irish R.M.), tough Roy Figgis (James Bolam-The Likely Lads) and young Norman Binns (Christopher Strauli-Raffles) come together as patients in this hilarious comedy series set in a National Health Service hospital. It isn't long before their quirky personalities emerge, accentuated by inevitable boredom and the inactivity of confinement and convalescence. The patients are at continuous odds with each other, feuding over such issues as the health risks of smoking, the attention from a glamorous film star and the usefulness of horoscopes in a poker game.

House surgeon Dr. Thorpe (Richard Wilson-One Foot In the Grave) is less than sympathetic and tries to maintain order on his ward, while these three hypochondriacs do everything in their power to create havoc.
