The rollicking adventures and bawdy conquests of one of literatures favorite heroes come to life on DVD.

Volume I:
Found as an orphan by the wealthy and compassionate Squire Allworthy, Tom Jones is raised on a grand estate alongside the squire's nephew, Master Blifil. But when Tom's childhood affection for his neighbor Sophia Western blossoms into adult love, his idyllic life is rudely shattered.

Though Tom and Sophia are in love, her father is determined that she will marry Blifil. Allworthy's heir. Only too happy to help this plan along. Blifil devises a scheme that leads Allworthy to disown his rival. Cast out from his home and family, Tom seeks comfort in a stranger's arms at a highway tavern. Unfortunately, Sophia is there as well, and she finds out about his indiscretion. Convinced that Tom no longer loves her, Sophia flees for London, but Tom finds out and follows her.

Volume II:
Sophia takes refuge in London with Lady Bellaston, who is intrigued with what she hears of Tom. After arranging to meet him at a masquerade, her interest turns to infatuation, and she seduces him. But she fails in her efforts to keep Tom and Sophia apart, and when they do meet, Tom proposes.

Enraged at being scorned, Bellaston plots against Sophia, who is saved by the unexpected arrival of her father, before turning her attentions to Tom. She decides to have him kidnapped, but the scheme is foiled when Tom is unjustly imprisoned after being attacked by a street gang. While Tom is in jail, Sophia finds out about his affair with Lady Bellaston and cuts off all contact. But just when the future looks utterly bleak, surprising news changes his fortune.
