Kenshin has set off on the long road to the old capital of Kyoto. Here, the past and the present will once again clash as the threat of war looms. Shadows of the revolution threaten to topple the fragile Meiji government, and one man stands at the forefront of this plot. He is none other than Battosai's successor, Makoto Shishio. The forgotten manslayer has returned to disrupt the peace of the Meiji Era and reconstruct Japan to fit his own twisted vision. Carrying out Shishio's will are ten of the world's deadliest warriors, the Juppongatanato. As Kenshin draws closer to danger Yahiko and Sanosuke struggle to hone their fighting skills in hopes that they can aid their friend before a sea of enemies overwhelms him.
