After nearly destroying itself, the human race has learned to survive. Through genetic engineering, humanity breeds those individuals it needs. Each person has a specific gene type which gives them special abilities.
But the Earth is still in danger. A giant construct has appeared in orbit just about the planet. This "Ring" as it has come to be known, hangs over the planet ominously.
Five exceptional young women-the best of the best-have been gathered aboard the state-of-the-art ship Bilkis. Among them is Mika Seido, a young girl whose genetic abilities are still dormant. Armed with a unique weapon called the Shaft, Mika and the others will have to destroy the Ring and defend humanity from an unknown enemy.
