When the world famous Irish flautist James Galway went to Ireland in 1991, he recorded what is now a classic album with the equal famous Irish cultural institution The Chieftains. By all accounts, it was a truly legendary meeting of the musical minds, one which traversed the centuries and a tradition that encompasses war, famine, drought and lots of great dances. On this live performance it's more than that - it's a visual symbol of the indomitable spirit of Ireland in the flesh: deep, exultant, triumphant.
