Top Of The World Live is the title of the highly anticipated double live DVD from the Grammy Award and Country Music Award-winning Dixie Chicks. this 52 minute, 18 song set captures the exuberant spirit and magic of the Dixie Chicks' record-shattering 2003 "Top Of the World Tour Live" tour, and features all of their hits: "Landslide," "Wide Open Spaces," "Long Time Gone," "Sin Wagon" and other fan favorites.
Shortly after the Dixie Chicks announced the group's "Top Of The World" tour at a press conference held in New York City on February 20th, 2003, the buzz was on. The group rapidly sold more than one million tickets for the 66 North American shows, with 51 shows selling out completely on the first day of sales. In fact, first day's sales for the "Top Of The World" tour-some 867, 000 tickets-was the largest in music history, eclipsing records set by Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, U2 and Paul McCartney.
Recorded live onstage during the Dixie Chicks' historic North American tour, Top Of the World Tour Live brings together songs from all three of the Dixie Chicks multi-platinum albums- 1998's Wide Open Spaces (the best-selling album in country music history), 1999's Fly (the first album by a country group to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200) and 2002's Home (which earned the Dixie Chicks the distinction of being the first country group and first female group, in the Soundscan era, to have two #1 debuts on the Billboard Top 200). The Dixie Chicks' previous live DVD, An Evening With The Dixie Chicks, has been certified 2X Platinum.
