The inspired fusion of both vocal and sacred music makes Bach's monumental Mass in B Minor the most sublime manifestation of the composer's spirit. Completing and perfecting the Mass preoccupied him till virtually his dying breath.
The performance of the work was recorded in the magnificent setting of the Wieskirche, the pilgrimage church of Steingaden Abbey in Bavaria. Conductor Enoch zu Guttenberg and the Neubeuern Choral Society have won widespread acclaim for their interpretations of Bach's great choral woks. They perform with soloists Anna Korondi (soprano), Iris Vermillion (contralto), Deon van der Walt (tenor), Dietrich Henschel (baritone), Albert Dohmen (bass) and the Orcherster der Klangverwaltung.
