A gifted and charismatic dancer, Nacho Duato trained and performed with giants of contemporary dance before establishing himself as a major choreographic talent. In 1990, he took up the role of Artistic Director of the Compania Nacional de Danza in his native Spain. Under his leadership, the CND developed its own distinctive style and won international acclaim as one of the most vibrant, accomplished and entertaining ensembles in Europe today. This studio recording features three of Duato's ballets: Por Vos Muero, Duende and Arenal. His inventive choreography is earthly, sensual and emotive, with an underlying passion that often rises unabashedly to the surface.
