Music Milestones: The Altered State Of The Art.

Captured for posterity by the landmark Beat Club's cameraman and sound tech, the performances in this collection represent some of the most mind-blowing music to be created during that heady time when rock 'n' roll consciousness took a quantum leap out of the confines of the '50s. Now the dance floor was between the listener's ears and the songs went places they'd never gone before. Extended jams and thoughful lyrics addressed social issues like love, peace, celebrity, altered states and places of wonder - even the cataclysmic disappearance of the fabled lost continent of Atlantis. Music became a journey, the artists its tour guides, exploring the distant reaches of the mind, whilw soaring to new, and very far-out, psychedelic highs.
