Crimes Of Passion Are Not Always Between Lovers.

Betty (Sandrine Kiberlain) is a best-selling novelist who has invented her name to escapeia troubled past embodied by her emotionally unstable and violent mother (Nicole Garcia). When her young son is killed in a tragic accident, Betty is so devastated that she barely notices when her deranged mother brings home a "replacement", a boy she kidnapped off the street. At first, Betty is cold towards him, but soon she decides she wants to keep her new "son" and becomes an unwilling accomplice in a criminal act. The plot thickens with the entrance of the boy's sexual promiscuous mother (Mathilde Seigner) and her unsavory circle of friends. As the story builds to its dramatic climax, all of these worlds collide with an unpredictable yet life-affirming force.
