In the tradition of My Beautiful Laundrette and set against the backdrop of the LA 1992 riots, Next Time tells the story of an inter-racial relationship between two down-on-their luck people, a 19 year old boy trying to make it as an artist, and a woman in her forties just trying to survive.They meet every Saturday night at a local laundromat in south central L.A. Their friendship is put to a series of test, and then, ultimately, must survive the indignation of the outside world.
