A Wild Dog Tames a Young Boy's Loneliness and Pain.

Young Sam remains frozen in time.He still can't accept the trauma of eight years ago: the disappearance and apparent death of his explorer Dad in the Arctic wilderness.Devoted to his father's memory, he despises his well-meaning, if awkward, stepdad and resents his mother for marrying this intruder.Sam's a boy crying out for companionship and understanding - and his cry is finally answered by the appearance of a beautiful wild dog he names Kayla, after his dad's identical-looking sled dog.Despite the wariness of his family and the hostility of the townspeople, Sam bonds with Kayla, whose actions teach the boy about love, loyalty, and self-sacrifice.

Evocatively filmed in the Canadian wilderness, this warm-hearted feature will move you to stand and cheer for its rousing finish, where Sam and Kayla compete for more than just victory in the annual dogsled race. This is family entertainment at its most classic and most beautiful!
