America's favorite episodes form PBS's landmark series, NATURE.

NATURE has been America's premiere showcase for natural history programming since 1982.One of the most acclaimed series in the history of PBS, enthralled viewers have been traveling to every corner of the globe while discovering the drama and beauty at the heart of the natural world. In the company of host George Page, viewer's eyes and minds have been opened to the astonishing array of wildlife, flora and fauna that shape and share our planet. The NATURE Archive Series presents many of the best shows in the award winning series' history.

The fascinating world of flesh-eating fauna is the subject of Death Trap. Dozens of species of plants were forced to evolve from a passive to carnivorous existence due to the nutrient poor environments in which they live.Death Trap revels the sophisticated mechanisms with which these plants attract, capture and devour their prey. The Venus Fly Trap -- the most famous, femme fatale of the plant world, lures large insects by its color, scent and taste, snapping closed and squeezing the victim to death within seconds.Ants may feed on Sundew, but it's their last supper as a strong glue quickly envelopes the hapless diner.Although less sophisticated than the Sundew, pitcher plants are just as effective as the slippery surface of their leaves leads inextricably downward to a watery death.
