Solti lived for music; he worked with such esteemed conductors as Arturo Toscanini and Bruno Walter and collaborated with many of the 20th century's leading composers such as Strauss, Stravinsky, Bartok and Britten. Born in Hungary and forced to flee Switzerland to escape the Nazis, Solti went on to establish an outstanding career with the internationally renowned Royal Opera, Covent Garden, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
