"First-rate horror!"-The Hollywood Reporter

Chased by threatening telephone calls, two midwestern women, the mothers of two teenage murderers move to Hollywood in the 1930s and open a dancing school for would-be Shirley Temples. But their idyllic new life is despoiled by reminders of the prior one when mysterious strangers and strange phone calls begin to plague them anew, all leading to murder. "Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?" (1972, 92min.) - An odd widow is mistaken for a fairy tale, child-eating witch by one of the orphans that she is throwing an annual Christmas party for - with dire consequences.
