Disc One The New Man - Elizabeth and her new husband Lawrence Kirbridge are set up in a house in Greenwich, and Rose goes to help things get settled.Rose must console her mistress, who is envious of Rose's flirtatious relationship with the new servant, Thomas. A Pair of Exiles - The Bellamys are shocked to find out that their son James and the former underhousemaid Sarah - now a singer in the music halls - have been having an affair.Worse still, Sarah is expecting. Married Love Unable to fulfill his conjugal duties to his wife, Lawrence makes a surprising offer to his publisher to "befriend" her! Whom God Hath Joined - Home for the holidays, Elizabeth breaks down and reveals that her marriage is in ruins.
Disc Two Guest of Honour - 165 Eaton Place is thrown into an uproar with the announcement that the King will be coming to dinner.As the Bellamys and their royal guest are settling into a game of bridge after the meal, a knock is heard at the door. The Property of a Lady - Thomas - the Bellamys' Chauffeur - is approached by an Irishman who claims to have letters written by Lady Marjorie to an army captain with whom she had an affair. Your Obedient Servant - While Richard's brother, Arthur is visiting for the weekend, an overseas cable arrives for Huson, the butler.Hudson immediately starts acting strangely, and Arthur, catching wind of his plans and thinking he is up to no good, plots to expose him as an impostor.
Disc Three Out of the Everywhere - Elizabeth finally has her baby, and plans are made at 165 Eaton Place to receive the new addition.Nanny Webster - who raised Lady Marjorie and Elizabeth - is brought in to help with the child.But Sarah, still affected by the loss of her own child, is anxious to get her hands on the new arrival. An Object of Value -When the Countess discovers a diamond brooch missing from her jewelry box, the already tense household is unsettled by a pervasive atmopshere of suspicion. A Special Mischief - Elizabeth, bored and alone at Eaton Place during the summer, gets involved with the suffragette movement and marches on an MP's house.Rose tries to stop her, but ends up swept along in the heat of the moment.The police break up the demonstration, and both Rose and Elizabeth end up in jail!
Disc Four The Fruits of Love - Elizabeth takes up with the wealthy bachelor Julius Karekin, who had influenced her release from prison.Meanwhile, the Bellamys learn that they may be forced out of 165 Eaton Place.Devastated by this news, Lady Marjorie is aghast at the rumors circulating about Elizabeth, and demands that she stop seeing Karekin. The Wages of Sin - Sarah is pregnant again, this time by Watkins - the chauffeur - who offers to marry her.But Lady Marjorie will not allow the couple to stay at Eaton Place, since James is on his way back from India, and she is determined that he shall never see Sarah again. A Family Gathering - At the small family dinner on Lady Marjorie's birthday, the Bellamys are surprised by the arrival of Thomas and Sarah Watkins.The potentionally disastrous reunion of James and Sarah passes without a problem, and everyone settles in for a night of quiet celebration.But a telephone call informing them that the King is dead puts an end to the festivities, and they find themselves contemplating their uncertain futures.
