Street, the tone was set for all six films, which have been restored for this DVD. Some consider The Mystery Of Mr. Wong (1939) the best Wong picture, thanks to strong direction from William Nigh.Mr. Wong In Chinatown (1939) added another regular, Margorie Reynolds as Bobby Logan.It was also remade as a Chan picture, The Chinese Ring. Karloff and the regular cast continued to shine in The Fatal Hour and Doomed To Die (both 1940).Later that year, Phantom Of Chinatown replaced Karloff with Keye Luke as Jimmy Wong.Grant Withers remained.Is this a prequel (with Luke as a younger Karloff) or a sequel (with Luke playing Wong's son a la Number One Son in the Charlie Chan pictures)?
