Lotta is frustrated because Luke is not returning her words of love.Hoping to inspire him, Lotta brings the Daltons to Daisy Town to perform "Highlights from Shakespeare."She even has her seamstress, shy Betty Lou, make costumes for the occasion.What she doesn't know is that Betty Lou has a crush on Luke.To make Luke jealous, Lotta takes a gypsy love potion and pretends to fall in love with William Dalton.Luke tries to prove the potion is a fake by taking it himself and immediately falls in love with Betty Lou. Meanwhile half the town is taking the potion and falling in love with the other half. Lotta leaves town fed up with Luke and the word of love.
