Shot in Washington, D.C. in HDTV before a live audience, Piano Grand: A Smithsonian Celebration is an All-Star musical tribute to the 300th anniversary of the invention of the piano. The most beloved of all instruments, the piano takes center stage as we celebrate the opening of the National Museum of American History's exhibition "Piano 300: Celebrating Three Centuries of People and Pianos." The program rocks, rolls, soothes, grooves and simply captivates audiences with its salute to this instrument of timeless beauty and versatility. Piano Grand! is a tribute to both its masters and the instrument itself and features performances by Billy Joel, Dave Brubeck, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Diana Krall.
