The year is 1941.The European war enters its third year and grows darker as Nazi Germany invades the Soviet Union.The British Navy sinks the German battleship Bismarck.In America, Joe DiMaggio thrills baseball fans with an amazing hitting streak.The Mount Rushmore monument is completed.And as U.S. economic aid to Hitler's enemies increases, aviation hero Charles Lindbergh echoes the sentiments of many as he argues for neutrality.But the country awakens from its uneasy slumber on December 7 to learn of a Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor and the U.S. Congress supports FDR's call to war.
