Norman Reedus (Beat) stars as Van, a young man whose life was shattered when he was sixteen by the car accident which severed his father's legs.His mother, unable to cope, abandoned the family leaving Van to care for his embittered father.
As Van's life disintegrates, he finds himself abandoned once again, this time by his affluent girlfriend who does not understand the toll his losses have taken on him.As he slips into a life of petty crime, he meets Doug (Chad Lowe), an all-American swim champion, who has moved into Van's old house.As their friendship deepens, Van soon learns that the "perfect life" isn't always what it seems.
