Red Skelton, the legendary comedian / funny man / clown, was a giant entertainment figure for over half a century. His name and his legend live on after his passing in 1997. Forever known as one of the ultimate family entertainers, Red performed many legendary characters that left his viewers in stitches over his zany, unexpected and classically hilarious skits. This "Classic Comedy Collector's Series" DVD set showcases some of the most classic material ever shown on TV during Red Skelton's lifetime.
Volume 1: Show #1:The Red Skelton Hour stars special guest, Martha Raye: Red shares the spotlight with "The Big Mouth" in an hour of laughter and music. Featured are the famous "Old West Skit" and the hilarious "School Boy Skit." Show #2:This hysterical show features three famous skits including "Cauliflower McPlugg" and "Lord Beaver Head." Additionally, Red visits with special guest Ed Sullivan and the laughs just keep on coming! Show #3:This show highlights classic Red Skelton as two of his fans' favorites: "Sadie" and the world's most unforgettable bum, "Freddy The Freeloader." Edward Everett Horton guest stars for an hour of fun, laughter and entertainment!
Volume 2: Show #1:The Red Skelton Hour includes "Better Dead Than Wed" guest starring Alan Funt and Abby Lane, three acts of "Candid Camera", the "Silent Spot" and songs performed by Abby Lane including "Strangers In The Night". Show #2:This rare color program features Red Skelton as the hilarious "Clem Kiddlehopper" on the farm. The hilarity doesn't stop there as Red keeps 'em laughing in his rendition of the classic story of "Camelot".
Show #3:This Skelton episode, also in color, features the legendary John Wayne in a collection of some of the funniest skits and Skelton's classic "Silent Spot". These are truly the best of the best to ever have graced the small screen!
