There's a dark horse in the American Dream.

Based on the Henry Morton Robinson novel The Perfect Round, David Carradine's Americana is a tale of a war veteran trying to heal his psychic wounds through repairing a broken down merry-go-round.

The American Soldier, played by Carradine, has recently returned from Vietnam. He takes to the road in search of a home. His travels lead him to Drury, Kansas, right in the heart of the United States.

There he finds a long neglected carousel which looks as lonely and wounded as he feels. He is determined to fix it, and arouses the suspicions of the local townspeople.
