Volume One starts out with a rare demo film called "Bosko the Talk-Ink Kid" (1929) which was produced by Harman and Ising to introduce their new character to potential financial backers. The film follows the format of Fleischer's Out of the Inkwell series, with Rudy Ising himself acting alongside his animated creation. This pilot film caught the attention of Leon Schlesinger, who sold the series to Warner Brothers. One of the best cartoons ever produced is "Bosko the Doughboy" (1931).These Bosko cartoons are well animated, lively and entertaining.-Stephen Worth, Storyboard Magazine
