Exploring America's Scenic Treasures

Arches National Park
This plateau in eastern Utah has massive sandstone cliffs, fragile rock formations and scores of graceful arches. This path is a geologic storybook for all to read. This story line is exposed in the marvelous shapes and brilliant colors that are found all along the main park road and even more so on the trails.

Bryce Canyon National Park
Glowing, majestic, whimsical, eerie and other-worldly are some of the words the narrator uses to describe Bryce Canyon. This wonderland is in the desert of Utah. The walls of the canyon dwarf not only the hiker, but the one-hundred-foot Douglas fir trees in the canyon as well. The wildlife and trees are beautiful, but the rock formations of the canyon will cast a spell on you.

Olympic National Park
In the extreme northwest of the state of Washington, this single preserve contains three totally different wilderness experiences: the Pacific shoreline, thick forests and mountains.Crystal clear streams litter the forest and trails of the park.If the mountains are the crown of the park, Mount Olympus is the crown jewel.Great scenic views, wild flowers, Lake Angeles (carved by ancient glaciers), Marymeare Falls and an old growth forest with giant evergreens can all be seen in Olympic National Park.

Acadia National Park
Beauty and tranquility are the words used to describe Acadia, not the tallest and biggest like some other National Parks.Acadia, the first national park east of the Mississippi, is a unique combination of ocean, forest, lakes and mountains. There are three ways a visitor can see the park. The first is a twenty mile long road for cars. The second is a fiftymile, hiker and bicycle, single lane carriage road built by John D. Rockefeller. Finally, and the focus of the video, are the miles of footpaths that traverse the park.

Glacier National Park
In a remote area of western Montana, a jagged mountain range rises above the pristine lakes and rolling prairies. These mountain peaks pierce the clouds that frequently surroundand swirl about them.Hundreds of rushing streams carry ice blue water from melting glaciers. These streams plunge through narrow gorges and over spectacular waterfalls to silent lakes in the valleys below.

Rocky Mountain National Park
Out west the cowboys are gone but the granite mountains remain.Tall mountain peaks composed of barren rock are most impressive in their stark grandeur.Narrow canyons, lush forests and broad valleys are not only impressive, but also breathtaking in their beauty. One of the most exciting and enjoyable aspects of a visit to Rocky Mountain is the chance to experience wildlife in a completely natural setting. The wildlife one will encounter include the majestic elk, bighorn sheep, rams and the industrious beaver.
