"Compelling viewing for adventure lovers"-THE DAILY MAIL

Based on Bernard Cornwell's best-selling novels, Sean Bean returns as maverick British officer Richard Sharpe.A rough diamond who has risen through the ranks of the army on the strength of his brave exploits, Sharpe now commands a band of war-hardened rifle-men behind enemy lines. When the incompetent Sir Henry Simmerson (Michael Cochrane) loses most of his men and his regimental flag during battle, Sharpe, spurred on by the memory of a friend who was recently killed, sets out for revenge. He is determined to capture the French mascot, a carved golden eagle which is carried into combat.

Sharpe is also looking to settle a personal score with two arrogant officers who have angered him with their mistreatment of the elegant widow Josefina (Katia Caballero).

Spanish guerilla leader Teresa (Assumpta Serna) is Sharpe's lover. She is known as "La Aguja," The Needle, because stabbing her victims in the neck is her favoured form of assassination.

Sharpe's Eagle brings to the screen the continued action, danger and romance that surround Sharpe and his Chosen Men.
